The Warm, Happy Marriage: Cold, Hard Facts to Consider

Lesson learned from my Marriage

My Wife and I crossed paths at church during a Sunday meeting. Our initial exchange of looks sparked an interest that led us to engage more during young adult activities. As we got to know each other better, our connection grew, eventually blossoming into a meaningful relationship.

After serving as full-time missionaries, we resumed our friendships, and little by little, the spark of love began to grow. Our courtship faced challenges when I fell ill with tuberculosis and had to undergo almost a year of treatment. Despite the difficulties, our bond grew stronger, and after recovering, I proposed to her. That's how our love story began, filled with resilience and deepening affection.

So what advantages can I enjoy by being married?

Both the soft stories and the hard evidence attest to the fact that good marriages are undeniably worth the work, sacrifice, and dedication they require. The benefits of marriage are unique; the disadvantages of alternative family forms are real, profound, and all too common. The benefits begin at the marriage ceremony; extend into the lives of husbands, wives, and their children across time; then stretch out to bolster neighborhoods, communities, and the world at large.
